CoLab
Product Description:
As its name implies, CoLab is a web-based independent application that promotes the collaborative efforts of project managers, project team members, contractors, and vendors. CoLab gives users the ability to quickly present, share, review, comment upon, and submit changes for approval online to project ideas, project documents, proposals, and other documents. CoLab works within and across a company's network. Basic security is provided through usernames and passwords, but may be configured for more customized security measures.
Features of CoLab:
- Team Members are tasked either individually or as part of pre-defined groups selected through a drop-down menu. Notification of an assigned task is generated through e-mail. Users access CoLab to view individual and collaborative assignments pertaining to projects, documents, and other related information. Tasks may include reviewing, editing, approving, and providing comments for a tasked document.
- CoLab can be configured to include outside subcontractors and vendors in the collaboration process.
- Any digitized document may be added as uploads for review by users and groups. Documents can include correspondence, memos, spreadsheets, PDFs, etc.
- Documents may be archived for later review.
- A polling feature allows team leaders and members to approve/disapprove particular aspects of a project. This feature is especially useful during project development and implementation.
- Milestones and deadlines may be defined for project phases.
- Menus provide access to a directory of documents awaiting approval, status reports, and team contact information.
- CoLab's calendar feature allows users to plan, schedule, submit, and review important project events by day, time, and length. Calendar dates are posted on a monthly graphic interface that can be accessed by users logged into CoLab.
