Ted Mathias

Ted Mathias has been programming computers since high school, where he worked with Fortran. While at Washington College, Ted learned to program using an old IBM keypunch and card reading computer, then studied Cobol, SPSS and Basic, and was a tutor and student manager of the Computer Science Lab.

Since 1994, Ted has been developing web sites either part or full-time for clients as diverse as Northrop Grumman, T. Rowe Price, Legg Mason, Children's National Medical Center and US West/Quest. Beginning with basic web sites that displayed photographic portfolios to complex web applications for membership associations and human resource departments, Ted has become very proficient in HTML, ColdFusion and database design. In order to better understand how a web site and the internet works, Ted earned his Microsoft Certified System Engineer certification, learning the ins and outs of web and mail servers and networks.

In 1999, Ted started Mathias Consulting, then expanded and created YellowDog Software in 2004 to provide programming services to his clients. The company has worked in conjunction with Advertising and Public Relations firms, such as Sage Communications of McLean, Va., Stackig/TMP of McLean, Va., and Ogilvy PR of Washington, DC, on their clients' projects. The company has also worked directly with its own clients, such as Norhtrop-Grumman of Herndon, Va., CRAssociates of Newington, Va., MetNet Communications of San Francisco, Genetics & IVF Institute, of Fairfax, Va., and Paraclete Realty of Millersville, Md.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Mathias received his Bachelor's degree from Washington College, Chestertown, Md., and currently resides near Nethany Beach, DE.
